Our speaker for the evening was Debbie Millard from The Alzheimers Research Society. It wasn't what you'd call a jolly talk as at present there is no cure, but she gave us an idea of what symptoms to look out for with the different types of Alzheimers.

The competition was for a pretty tea plate and from 8 entries Anita came 1st, I came 2nd and Peggy 3rd.

Ruth provided a general knowledge quiz for our social time. I know you're supposed to keep your brain active to help ward off Alzheimers, but a question on golf !!

The committee was re-elected with the important exception of the post of President Ruth who had taken on the job for a year, stepped down and we are fortunate to have Marion back in the role. We thank Marion for this as she's had a very difficult year and would rather have had more time off. She's a trooper .....welcome back.

Next month on the 8th May the speaker will be Beverley Bond on the Swiss gardens. The competition is for an old gardening tool. I won't divulge the name of the member who asked if she could enter her husband.

GREAT FUN WAS HAD WITH THE DRESSING OF SOME OF THE GUESTS AT THE W.I.CHRISTMAS PARTY!!
